Life Currently #1

I've been meaning to write one of these posts for ages, and after being inspired by the beautiful Augustin Ra of Indie Spirit, I decided to take the plunge and write a life currently post. I was tempted to delay it, as no one could deny that this week the world has felt less inviting than usual – and it’s difficult to write when much of what dominates the news feels so hopeless, so brutal. It breaks my heart, all of it, and I’ve felt stunned into silence. What matters – does anything? – in the face of such wrenching news from near and from far? But, of course, everything matters, indeed more so than ever. And with the turn of the tide into Summer, today’s blue morning sky and the sunshine peaking out,  this little heart is daring to hope again. I’m never quite sure of what I want this blog to be, if it truly represents me three years on from where it all began, but I’ve simply resolved to relax into the mantra what will be, will be.I hope this week will be better for us all. Happy Friday lovelies.

EATING: anything with couscous, I've been obsessed with it lately.

DRINKING: hot chocolate (always) and orange juice in the mornings (freshly squeezed)

READING: the legacy of india, which was written by a lot of different people during the British occupation but it's so interesting.

LISTENING: to Johnnyswim (so, so recommended)

WATCHING: crime dramas, of course.

BOOKMARKING: stuff about my project & Hyderabad

WANTING: for nothing. (except, perhaps, sun? is sun too much to ask for?)

LOOKING: forward to 11.15 am on May 30th when my exams will finally be over

ENJOYING: having time for myself.

WAITING: for the weather to be sunny again.

WONDERING: what the next few months will hold.

LOVING: the cherry blossoms on the trees and blue-skied mornings.

HOPING: I'll stop procrastinating so much and actually study

MARVELLING: that in four months I'll be living in Hyderabad

NEEDING: to write more.

WEARING: fluffy pyjamas ( shh, you, it's still cold in Scotland!)

NOTICING: how much more people smile at you in good weather.

KNOWING: that I'm surrounded by beautiful people.

LAUGHING: so often, mostly at things that aren't even that funny.

THINKING: about the future.

DAYDREAMING: about June, when I'll have my life back (#examproblems)

WISHING: my brothers lived closer.

FEELING: grateful for so much, despite the terrible headlines around the world.

  6. I loved this post, Anne. When things occur in the world, I feel absolutely terrible and heartbroken and frustrated that I cannot do anything to make a change or help. It's often something I talk about with my boyfriend, who feels infinitely more passionate about this subject matter than I do, and we talk about it and we decide that's what we want our lives to become; to become lives that will be able to help.

That aside, I was in your shoes a few weeks ago with the exams, so good luck with that, Anne, haha. I love your very authentic and raw voice and I've been on A Portrait of Youth a couple of times, so I'm quite surprised I have not followed yet, but no worries, I'm now following.

I'll be looking forward to more of your posts, Anne. Cheers, and good luck with everything. x
